The Australian High Commission, New Delhi, is seeking applications for the position of Transport Officer.
The job description for the position is attached. Also attached are the selection criteria that the Interviewing Committee will use to assess applicants’ suitability for the position. Subject to the successful completion of a three-month probationary period the successful applicant will be offered a two-year contract of employment. The contract maybe extended subject to agreement between the employer and employee.
The commencing salary for the position will be determined according to qualifications and experience. The package will include annual leave, limited medical reimbursements, Diwali bonus and provident fund provisions.

JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Supervise the transport section including maintaining duty rosters and vehicle maintenance.
2. Assist with the preparation, implementation and management of transport plans for high level visits.
3. Maintenance of vehicle records, assistance with purchase, insurance and registration of vehicle.
4. Ensure proper maintenance of official vehicles and reporting to the supervisor any defects and repairs required in order to keep vehicles in proper road condition and ensuring that repairs are performed.
5. Maintaining accurate log and fuel expenses records.
6. Assist with arrivals and departures of official guests and visitors at airports and railway stations.
7. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
SELECTION CRITERIA
1. A good driving record and experience driving senior officials and VIPs. Good judgment skills in handling unforeseen issues or difficult driving situations. Should have a valid commercial driving license.
2. Good knowledge of Delhi and surrounding areas and a demonstrated ability to read and interpret maps and layouts.
3. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English and Hindi.
4. Proven ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work well in a team environment. Flexibility and adaptability. Supervisory experience desirable.
5. Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
