VACANCY: OFF COMPOUND ELECTRICIAN

Consular & Administrative Section

The Australian High Commission invites applications for the above mentioned position. The job description is attached. Also attached is a list of the selection criteria which the Interviewing Committee will use to assess applicants’ suitability for the position. Applicants must address each of the selection criteria. Subject to the satisfactory completion of a three-month probationary period the successful applicant will be offered a two-year contract of employment. The contract may be extended subject to mutual agreement.

The salary range is Rs 23,815 to Rs 27,147, with the expected starting point being Rs. 23,815. The package includes annual leave, limited medical reimbursements, Diwali bonus and provident fund provisions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Attend to all electrical problems, and undertake repairs, at off compound residences

• Provide backup to the on compound electrician as required.

• Install Cable TV connections for off –compound residences.

• Provide electrical assistance to all aspects of off compound security installments.

• Electrical set up required by A-Base for their events at their residences off compound.

• Other duties are required.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

• Demonstrated experience and superior ability in providing electrical repair services at a standard equal to Australian standards

• Recognised electrician qualifications.

• Strong communication skills, particularly in written and spoken English as well as Hindi.

• Ability to work flexibly, and take on multiple tasks in a team environment.
