EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR EXPECTED VACANCIES AT THE VISA OFFICER B LEVEL

The Visa Section of the Australian High Commission is seeking suitably qualified people to submit Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for expected vacancies at the VOB level. EOIs will be used to assess applicants for vacancies in the Visa Section arising in the next 12 months. Job descriptions for the positions are attached. Selection will be made strictly on the merit principle.

NOTE FOR ALL APPLICANTS

• Applications must be typed. Handwritten applications will not be accepted.
• Applicants must submit (1) a completed “Standard CV pro-forma for positions in the Visa Section” and (2) a completed “General Employment Criteria form” for the position/s applied for. Applications not meeting these criteria will not be considered.
• Conform to word limits where specified. Applications which exceed the word limit will not be considered.
• Provide examples of relevant work experience where specified.

JOB DESCRIPTION - VISA OFFICER (B)

Visa Officer B’s carry out a range of tasks assigned to them by the Senior Migration Officer or Principal Migration Officer. These include: managing/assessing visa caseloads and/or referrals for integrity checking, prioritising cases for interview and assessment, carrying out integrity interviews and undertaking investigations for integrity checking; preparing reports, case-notes, interview notes, correspondence and other material in relation to visa matters; dealing with client queries by phone, e-mail and in person; maintaining accurate file, electronic and other records; providing translation and interpretation of community languages as required; and willingness to travel and represent the Visa Office to clients, agents and other stakeholders as required.

The commencing salary for Visa Officer B will be Rs. 35,465 per month in the range Rs. 35,465 to Rs. 41,713.
