Australian First Nations immersive multimedia installation ‘Walking through a Songline’ to open in Jaipur

After a successful run in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata, the Australian First Nations immersive multimedia installation ‘Walking through a Songline’ (WTAS) is all set to delight audiences in Jaipur (23 January - 18 February).
The Australian High Commission in India is partnering with the Rajasthan International Centre and the Jaipur Literature Festival to bring this unique digital experience, based on a component of the National Museum of Australia’s internationally acclaimed exhibition Songlines: Tracking the Seven Sisters, to the Pink City.
Songlines: Tracking the Seven Sisters, in which more than 100 artists are represented, is an Aboriginal-led exhibition developed in 2017 which takes visitors on a journey along the epic Seven Sisters Dreaming tracks, through art, Indigenous voices, innovative multimedia, and other immersive displays.
Australia’s High Commissioner to India Philip Green said, “Australia is home to the world’s oldest continuous culture, and I am delighted that we are able to bring this exhibition to the Pink City as a formal part of the Jaipur Literature Festival program.”
“The Walking Though a Songline exhibition will allow audiences to experience a stunning blend of storytelling and visual artistry inspired by Australia’s rich First Nations culture. I am proud that through art, we can bring our First Nations stories and knowledge to the people of India,” he added.
Director, Rajasthan International Centre, Mr. Nihal Chand Goel said, “I am thankful to the Australian High Commission in India for choosing RIC as their venue in Jaipur for showcasing this important digital exhibition coming from the National Museum of Australia. As India itself is one of the oldest continuing civilizations of the world, I’m confident that the people of Jaipur and Rajasthan will connect with and appreciate the unique digital experience this exhibition offers.”
Managing Director, Teamwork Arts and Producer, Jaipur Literature Festival, Sanjoy Roy said, “We are delighted to partner with the Australian High Commission in bringing Walking Through a Songline exhibition to the annual Jaipur Literature Festival. Produced by the National Museum of Australia in partnership with Australia’s Mosster Studio, WTAS has the ongoing support of the traditional Aboriginal custodians and knowledge holders of this story. The exhibition received support from Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade as part of its flagship public diplomacy initiative, Australia now.
The India tour of WTAS is supported by the Centre for Australia-India Relations (CAIR), Deakin University, Tata Bluescope Steel, and Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ).

आरआई.सी, जयपुर में ऑस्ट्रेलिया से आई डिजिटल प्रदर्शनी
मुंबई, नई दिल्ली, बैंगलुरू और कोलकाता में सफल आयोजन के बाद, ऑस्ट्रेलियाई फर्स्ट नेशनस की इमर्सिव मल्टीमीडिया प्रदर्शनी वॉकिंग, धु अ सॉन्गलाईन (Walking through a Songline) अब जयपुर में दर्शकों को मंत्रमुग्ध करने के लिये तैयार है। यह प्रदर्शनी 23 जनवरी से 18 फरवरी तक राजस्थान इन्टरनेशनल सेन्टर में आयोजित होगी।
ऑस्ट्रेलियाई हाई कमीशन इन इंडिया, राजस्थान इन्टरनेशनल सेन्टर और जयपुर लिटरेचर फेस्टिवल की साझेदारी में, इस अनोखे डिलिटल अनुभव को पिंक सिटी में लेकर आ रहा है। यह अनुभव नेशनल म्यूजियम ऑफ आस्ट्रेिलिया की विश्व प्रसिद्ध प्रदर्शनी सॉन्गलाईन्स ट्रैकिंग ट सेवन सिस्टर्स के एक घटक पर आधारित है।
सॉन्गलाईन्स ट्रैकिंग ट सेवन सिस्टर्स एक आदिवासी नेतृत्व वाली प्रदर्शनी है, जिसे 2017 में विकसित किया गया था, जिसमें 100 से अधिक कलाकारो का प्रतिनिधित्व है और जो दर्शकों को सात बहनों के ड्रीमिंग ट्रैक्स की महाकाव्य यात्रा पर ले जाती है। इसमें कला, आदिवासी आवाजें, नवीन मल्टीमीडिया और अन्य इमर्सिव डिस्प्ले शामिल हैं।
ऑस्ट्रेिलिया के हाई कमीशनर टू इंडिया, फिलिप ग्रीन ने कहा, ऑस्ट्रेलिया दुनिया की सबसे पुरानी सततु संस्कृति का घर है, और मुझे खुशी है कि हम इस प्रदर्शनी को पिंक सिटी में जयपुर लिटरेचर फैस्टिवल में औपचारिक कार्यक्रम के हिस्से के रूप में ला पा रहे हैं
राजस्थान, इन्टरनेशनल सेन्टर के निदेशक श्री निहाल चंद गोयल ने कहा ऑस्ट्रेिलयाई हाई कमीशन इन इंडिया का आभारी हूँ कि उन्होंने इस महत्वपूर्ण डिजिटल प्रदर्शनी को प्रदर्शित करने के लिये जयपुर में आरआई सी का चुना। यह प्रदर्शनी नेशनल म्यूजियम ऑफ ऑस्ट्रेलिया से आई है। चूंकि भारत स्वय दुनिया की सबसे पुरानी सततु सभ्यताओं में से एक है मुझे विश्वास है कि जयपुर और राजस्थान के लोग इस प्रदर्शनी के अनोखें डिजिटल अनुभव से जुड़ेंगे और इसकी सराहना करेंगे।

नेशनल म्यूजियम ऑफ ऑस्ट्रेलिया द्वारा ऑस्ट्रेलिया के मॉस्टर स्टूडियों की साझेदारी में निर्मित इस प्रदर्शनी को इस कहानी के पारंपरिक आदिवासी संरक्षकों और ज्ञान धारकों का निश्तर समर्थन प्राप्त है। इस प्रदर्शनी को ऑस्ट्रेलिया के विदेश मामलों और व्यापार विभाग का समर्थन प्राप्त है और यह उसकी प्रमुख सार्वजनिक पहल ऑस्ट्रेलिया नाउ का हिस्सा है। इस प्रदर्शनी के भारत दौरे को सेन्टर फॉर ऑस्ट्रेलिया इंडिया रिलेशंस (CAIR) डीकिन यूनिवर्सिटी टाटा ब्लुस्कोप स्टील और ऑस्ट्रेलिया एण्ड न्यूजीलैण्ड बैंकिंग ग्रुप (ANZ) का सहयोग प्राप्त है।
