Vacancy : Oz Fest – Marketing and Partnerships Manager

The Australian High Commission is seeking a suitably qualified person to fill the position of Marketing and Partnerships Manager for Australia’s Cultural Festival in India (“Oz Fest”). Oz Fest will promote Australia as a contemporary, creative, outward-looking and diverse nation. It will run from October 2012 to January 2013 in various locations across India.

This position will be vacant from mid-January 2012, for a period of approximately twelve months. The successful applicant will be required to complete a three-month probationary period.
The salary for this position will be negotiated taking into account qualifications and experience.

Below is the job description as well as the selection criteria which the Interview Panel will use to assess applicants’ suitability for the position. Applicants must address each of the selection criteria and provide contact details of at least two referees.

• Only applicants who hold a valid visa with work rights or Person of Indian Origin status will be considered. Prospective applicants are responsible for checking their eligibility for visa and work permits before lodging an application.
• The occupant of this position will be required to handle sensitive information. The successful applicant should be able to provide proof of Australian citizenship and either hold a current Australian security clearance to Protected level (or above) or be willing and eligible to obtain one.
• This is a locally engaged position. Conditions of employment are set by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. No relocation costs or cost of living allowances are payable to successful applicants. Successful applicants living outside India will be responsible for travel to, accommodation and obtaining working visas for India. The Australian High Commission is unable to assist in this regard.

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Manage the Oz Fest Partnership Program including obtaining support (ie sponsorship) from partners and negotiating the details of partnership packages and related contractual arrangements.

2. Manage relationships with partners and stakeholders.

3. Manage processes for the procurement of marketing, communications and other services required to deliver Oz Fest.

4. In consultation with partners and key stakeholders including Austrade and Australian state government representatives, develop the Oz Fest business program.

5. Provide event management services for the cultural and business programs as required.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

1. Experience in cultural diplomacy programs, partnership programs, business programs, marketing, procurement and/or other relevant experience.

2. High level organisational skills, including event management experience.

3. High level communication, liaison and representational skills.

4. Competent IT skills including a good working knowledge of applicable software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

5. A working style that is team oriented and flexible and an ability to handle pressure.
