Direct Aid Program supports Early Childhood Education with NGO Shanti Sahyog

Direct Aid Program supports Early Childhood Education with NGO Shanti Sahyog

The early years are the most important ones for a child. Several researches across the world have highlighted the importance of an early childhood education (ECE) and the significant impact that it has on one’s life.

Reinforcing our commitment towards providing quality early childhood education, we support a pre-school centre in Tughlakabad village with NGO Shanti Sahyog through our Direct Aid Program.

The pre-school caters to the needs of 120 children from slum areas that cannot access the government centres. It has dedicated teachers, a pre-literacy program, illustrative textbooks, parent-teacher consultations and creative sessions including site visits and play school area, for the holistic development of a child.

Our Political Counsellor, Ms Jenny Grant-Curnow, recently visited the centre, and was pleased to see the enthusiasm of the children. She also met with the school management and had an insightful discussion about the prospects and challenges of pre-school education in India.
