Screening of Ocean in a Drop in India
Australian film-maker Andrew Garton and New Delhi-based non-for-profit Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF) joined forces to create ‘Ocean in a Drop’—a film which describes the impact the internet is having on India’s rural & tribal communities; a silent revolution.
An example of powerful on screen storytelling, the film was launched at the celebration of 15 years of DEF at India Habitat Centre. Deputy High Commissioner Chris Elstoft attended the screening, while Debjani Ghosh, president incumbent NASSCOM was the keynote speaker.
Andrew also laucnhed his book ‘Right to Know’, which encapsulates his experience and observations during filming ‘Ocean in a Drop’.
The film was also screened at the Chennai Film Festival, organised by our Chennai consulate.
